Opis
The study covers an impressively large body of representative novels written by four major African American women writers from the early 1980s onward. Instead of offering individual readings of the novels, the study adopts the more demanding approach of presenting the material under shifting thematic perspectives, at the same time contextualizing it with the findings of historical, sociological, criminological as well as musicological research. The approach is thus particularly apt to give the reader a sense of the multi-dimensional qualities of the texts under discussion.
