This arrangement can be best described as Jazz Waltz, as a hint to its character and how it is interpreted in the rhythm and tempo.
The introduction by the rhythm section can be treated as open. However, it is essential to build up suitable dynamics prior to play the melody relised by the combo in the first exposition.
The parts C through D are meant for improvisations, which can be open. Suggested instruments: Tenor Saxophone, Trombone, and Piano. If you intend to introduce other soloists into the improvised parts, try to use the backgrounds for added contrast.
After all the solos are through, the E part should follow on cue. It is in the form of a special chorus, especially appealing to any orchestra as it allows for the full display of its sound and musical proficiency before the audience. This part requires special attention to ensure rhythmic precision and to shape the dynamics.
